Biography

Hello! I'm Manas, a Software Engineer Looking to Transition to Product Management roles with a keen interest in Data Intensive Software Products that aim to improve human lives, Hybrid and Pirvate Cloud Platform Products and Everything SaaS,PaaS,IaaS. Some of my other interests are also in the hardware hacking arena, security,data privacy and Diy's electronics(i built a home cockpit for video games recently).

Currently i am a Software engineering working at SAP Labs India(SAP's research divison) with the Soverign and private cloud team. My professional journey started with open source, i was a contributor in Fedora(A redhat project) and then during the summer of 2019 and 2020 i got selected for the Highly Competitive Google Summer of Code program to work as a paid summer intern at Fedora(in 2019) to build a Data cross syncronization platform from the Ground up and at Criu(in 2020) for Developing a serializing/de-searlizing container images and transportation algo.

Outside of my work, As a Student i was also a GitHub Campus Expert,I was selected from a pool of 10000+ applicants by GitHub to Build a Tech and hackathon Culture in the western regions of India. I strived to build diverse and inclusive communities to learn tech skills, collaborate on projects, and share experiences. Through this platform, I not only introduced,but also Empowered and Enabled Hundreds of students from Diverse Backgrounds to promising tech domains and Learning.

I also organized collaborative events like Hackathons and Ideathons in partnership with GitHub in Multiple states Across India. I Enabled the students to Setup out of the standard outdated Indian College Curriculum and to Take their careers into their own Hands.

I also Established The First Tech Club and The First ever Hackathon on my College's Campus and started a Culture of Hacking and Innovation.

1:1 Metored and am Still Mentoring Some of the Most Brilliant Students to Excel in their careers.

● Selected through the highly competitive Google Summer of Code program to work as a summer intern with the program-participating open source organization CRIU ● Ported the implementation of the CRIT tool, which is in the criu program package, from Python to Golang ● CRIT is used for serializing/deserializing frozen container state images and allowing editing, modifications and preparing them for transportation over the network as per the protocol buffer definitions ● Worked under the mentorship of a Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat to accomplish the project

Apr 2019 – Sep 2019 Remote
● Selected through the highly competitive Google Summer of Code program to work in partnership with a Senior Program manager to support the program participating open source organization fedora.org (redhat subsidiary) ● Designed and built (coding) a data cross synchronization platform from the ground up for a new feature management process being implemented in Fedora by the Senior management team ● The software built cross-synchronizes the generated data of various services across each other using REST api and xml in realtime cutting down on data processing time from 20+ minutes for a single feature down to 20 seconds, thus streamlining the whole data process and enabling quick voting for new feature changes ● Actively supported the senior management team in designing a new feature change process and other program activities to enable easier entry-level points for newcomers to the open source project
